Meet Our Veterinarians
DR. DONNA TYSON
DVM
Dr. Tyson originally graduated from NC State University in 1985 with a BS in Environmental Design. After graduation, Dr. Tyson began breeding Yorkshire Terriers. One very special little puppy she bred, however, made her realize veterinary medicine was her true calling in life. This one particular puppy was born with a cleft pallet and required some extra care, so Dr. Tyson found herself spending a lot of time at the local vet’s office learning a lot of new things about animals and animal care. She knew at this point she needed to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Tyson graduated from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and has been practicing medicine ever since. She opened Tyson Animal Hospital in 2006 with its main focus being on its clients and their pets. She is skilled in diagnostics and surgical procedures. When she is not busy providing exceptional care to pets, Dr. Tyson enjoys spending time with her children, trying new foods, swimming, and horseback riding.
DR. AMANDA MILLER
Veterinarian
Dr. Miller graduated from NC State in 2017 and started practicing with us in April of 2018. She moved to North Carolina in 2008 from upstate New York to pursue her undergraduate degree. She enjoyed NCSU so much that she stayed another 4 years for vet school! Dr. Miller has three cats: Ziva, Yang, and Saya. She loves horse-back riding in her free time.

LYNN
Veterinary Assistant
Lynn moved to North Carolina in 1991 after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Zoology. She has been working with Dr. Tyson since 1998, and has been a part of the TAH family since they first opened their doors in 2006. Lynn is a very strong Veterinary Assistant who wears many different hats in our hospital; she does a little bit of everything! She has one dog of her own, a Labrador/pit bull mix named Raymer, who she rescued in May of 2014. In her spare time, Lynn enjoys reading, watching movies, riding roller-coasters, and spending time with her children.
MEGHAN
Veterinary Assistant
Meghan started at Tyson shortly before graduating from North Carolina State University in 2016 with a degree in Zoology and a minor in Agricultural Business Management. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two setters and horseback riding. She is looking forward to starting veterinary school in August of 2023!
KATIE
Veterinary Assistant
Katie joined our team in April of 2019 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Public Health and a minor in Gerontology. When she’s not at work, Katie can be found working in her garden or spending time with her dog Houston.
CAROLINE
Veterinary Assistant
Caroline joined our team in January of 2020. She is equal parts sassy and sweet, and a joy to have around! She is currently enrolled at Central Carolina Community College & Wake Tech Community College. When she’s not at work she can be found napping or watching Netflix with her dogs Lobo and Peach.
STEPHEN
Veterinary Assistant
Stephen joined the Tyson team in April of 2021 after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is currently a vet student at North Carolina State University and spends his free time helping out as the Associate Director at BeWild Reptile Rescue. Stephen hopes to become an exotic vet once he graduates vet school but enjoys learning as much as he can from Dr. Tyson and Dr. Miller.
EMILY
Veterinary Assistant
Emily joined the TAH team in the summer of 2017 and continued to work throughout her undergraduate career at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. After graduating in 2022, she continued her collegiate career at the College of Veterinary Medicine at NCSU. She hopes to become a small animal veterinarian with a focus on canine medicine. In her free time, she loves reading, listening to music and spending time with her two dogs Ellie and Stanley!
SYDNEY
Veterinary Assistant
Sydney joined the Tyson team in June of 2021 after graduating from North Carolina State University. She has volunteered for the North Carolina Tiger Rescue and is always up for an adventure, including a recent rafting trip through the Grand Canyon.
BRIANNA
Veterinary Assistant
Brianna joined the Tyson team in August of 2022 after receiving her Bachelor’s degree at North Carolina State University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Animal Science. When Brianna isn’t working, she can be found spending time with her sisters or playing video games!
HALINA
Veterinary Assistant/ Kennel Technician
Halina can do it all, she helps out in every area of our clinic and does so with a bright smile on her face. She has a passion for all animals but has a soft spot for wildlife. When Halina isn’t working, she enjoys playing video games, gardening, or relaxing outside!

Liv joined the team in May of 2023 and is currently studying Animal Science at the University of North Carolina. She has volunteered for the Burlington Animal Shelter and is interested in learning more about animal nutrition and veterinary science
TYSON

RECEPTIONIST
Kiara joined our team in December of 2020. She is currently enrolled in classes to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, where she then hopes to attend a Vet School that offers a DVM-PHD program. When she is not working or studying, she can be found enjoying the sun and a bowl of fruit with her pets Winter and Summer.
